Opportunity at a Glance: Formative assessment is a powerful practice for supporting student learning. WeTeachNYC contains a variety of resources to support teachers in developing their formative assessment practice, including:
- The Formative Assessment: Assessment of and for Learning Video Modules – ten video modules designed for teams of educators to engage in together. Teams may do the modules in order or select chapters that align to their particular goals.
- Planning for Formative Assessment Professional Learning Activity – participants determine which formative assessment strategies would best support student learning in a specific lesson. This activity includes a bank of strategies and a template with questions to help teachers design assessments that match planned instructional outcomes.
