Reading with Power and Passion: Implementing and Enriching Independent Reading in Grades 6-12

Open to: 6-12 grade teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: Building a culture of reading that fosters life-long readers is the key to any successful reading program. This session will delve into the routines, systems and lessons that can support schools with implementing or strengthening their independent reading initiatives. You will walk away with a renewed approach to reading and writing, and take home a resource guide that contains an array of strategies, best practices and resource materials to implement a robust independent reading program in secondary schools. Breakfast will be included. Please ensure that your supervisor has released you for the day.
