“Enter Players”: Teaching Shakespeare through Performance 

Open to: 6-12 grade teachers, Special Education teachers, ELL teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: ‘All the world is a stage’ and so are our classrooms! Join a hands-on demonstration of instructional techniques to facilitate the reading (and acting out) of Shakespeare’s plays. Leave with a fresh look at how to engage students in the Bard’s texts with a focus on his thematic nuances and beautiful words. Students often are reluctant to study Shakespeare, but with this approach, which brings his plays to life through performance, they are sure to have a new appreciation. This workshop is not curriculum specific and all strategies from the workshop can be used within any ELA curriculum. Breakfast will be included.
