Reading Complex Texts and Planning Units of Study

Open to: High school teachers, special education teachers, and ELL teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: Explore different ways to plan customized units of study specifically tailored to the needs of your individual students. Delve into specific reading strategies that will help students access various complex texts featured in a literacy curriculum. We will explore Nancy Frey and Doug Fisher’s approach to complex texts and beginning to plan units that address students’ building of comprehension skills for these texts. This workshop is for high school educators using any curriculum. Breakfast will be included.
