Summer Opportunity: Explore Long Island’s DNA Through Barcoding

Open to: High School science teachers in Brooklyn or Queens.

Opportunity at a Glance: Get an introduction to sample collecting, DNA barcoding wet-labs, and bioinformatics infrastructure during this dynamic workshop. After the training, consider assembling a student research team to develop an original research project proposal. Teams with accepted proposals will receive supplies, equipment, and scientific support. Program data will contribute to a distributed effort to generate a “big picture” of Long Island’s many ecosystems and diverse living things.

Location: Long Island, New York. Various sites.
