Opportunity at a Glance: The first NYC Gay Pride March was held on June 28, 1970 in Manhattan, uniting LGBTQ individuals and allies to stand up for equality.  As in past years, the DOE will participate in Pride Month celebrations, including the NYC Heritage of PRIDE March on  June 25, in solidarity with and honor of LGBTQ+ students, staff, and family members. All members of the DOE are welcome to march in Pride events.

Key dates:

  • Queens Pride: Sunday, June 4;
  • Brooklyn Pride: Sunday, June 10;
  • NYC Heritage of Pride – Manhattan: Sunday, June 25

Location: Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan – details will be emailed to registrants.

Registration deadline: Friday, June 16, by 5:00 p.m.

Take action: Register to attend as an individual or talk to your principal about registering as a school group.
