Explore How to Teach About Ocean Life with Literacy

Open to: 3-5 grade teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: In this two-day workshop, learn how to design a Common Core State Standards-aligned Museum learning experience. Museum staff will demonstrate how to use Museum resources, science trade books, and literacy strategies–in conjunction with a trip to the Hall of Ocean Life–to create an activity that aligns with reading and writing standards as well as science standards. Collaborate to design Museum learning experiences that align with your own teaching goals around ocean environments and marine life. This workshop is free and includes breakfast, lunch and relevant resources.
