Open to: High school staff who will either a) coordinate and support a Condom Availability Program (CAP) for the first time, or b) those who have not received CAP training CAP since 2013.
Opportunity at a Glance: Through Condom Availability Programs, trained DOE staff make free condoms, quality health information, and referrals to sexual health services available to NYC public school students in grades 9-12. This workshop builds on participants’ skills for implementing or enhancing a CAP. Participants learn about the CAP mandate and requirements, including the parental opt-out letter, scheduling, as well as program promotion. They will also receive tips for promoting safe and supportive environments, as well as free materials and action-planning tools.
