Opportunity at a Glance: The Middle School Quality Initiative (MSQI) supports schools in developing literacy in young adolescents, ultimately preparing them for success in high school and college. MSQI’s school site-based sessions, led by MSQI mentor schools and principals, are wonderful opportunities for educators new to MSQI and those looking to deepen their adolescent literacy practices.

- Thursday, January 18, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Rigorous Authentic Literacy: Using Performance Tasks to Drive Reading, Writing, Discussion and Real-World Connections Across Content Areas
- Wednesday, January 31; 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. — Word Generation for Students and Families: Language Acquisition Strategies to Deepen Literacy Comprehension Across Disciplines and Family Engagement
