Essential Understandings, New Possibilities for Student Learning Experiences

Open to: All teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: Come learn about the National Museum of the American Indian’s national education initiative, Native Knowledge 360° and its Framework for Essential Understandings about American Indians. This workshop will address culturally sensitive ways to approach the study of American Indian cultures and will support the teaching of indigenous peoples’ history, culture, and art by helping teachers learn concepts and strategies to assess educational materials in their schools and libraries. Participants are eligible for CTLE credit.

Workshop date: Thursday, April 19; 4:30 p.m. — 7:00 p.m.
