Unpacking the New Passport to Social Studies Curriculum: Global History and Geography for Grades 9 and 10

Opportunity at a Glance: Passport to Social Studies, the DOE developed social studies curriculum, is expanding to support Grades 9 and 10 during the 2018-19 school year. Passport aligns to the NYC Social Studies Scope & Sequence and integrates the New York State Social Studies Framework to provide models for effective and engaging social studies teaching and learning. Participants will unpack the Passport program design and components while examining course content for Unit 1 of the 9th and 10th grade Global History and Geography courses. Participants will prepare to implement the Passport to Social Studies program with their students. Per session is possibly available for this opportunity.

Key dates: The session will be offered three separate times throughout the summer:
