Opportunity at a Glance: For all students, especially those with learning disabilities and attention deficits, developing executive functioning skills is integral to success academically and in life. Teachers can integrate systems that encourage students to develop increased independence while supporting skills such as time management, self-monitoring, and organization. This discussion will:
- Identify specific executive functioning skills
- Offer practical techniques to help teachers develop executive functioning skills in students
- Demonstrate systems and strategies to prepare students for successful participation within mainstream settings
