Opportunity at a Glance: Cognitive psychology and brain science have revolutionized our understanding of the importance of teaching spelling. In this full day workshop, Dr. Richard Gentry, America’s “Guru of Spelling” will share the research on how spelling ignites reading-brain circuitry and the best strategies for teaching spelling in grades K-2, and spelling intervention in grades 3-5. Participants will leave the workshop with the confidence and know-how to teach spelling effectively in 15 minutes a day, and materials to support spelling acquisition and intervention in their practice. This workshop is eligible for CTLE credit.
