Chancellor’s PD Day: Muslims in Brooklyn at the Brooklyn Historical Society

Open to: Middle School Social Studies and ELA Teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: This workshop designed for middle-school social studies and English language arts teachers will feature our public history project, “Muslims in Brooklyn.” Muslims in Brooklyn collected oral histories from a wide range of Muslim Brooklynites, and we are happy to share theory and practice for using these resources in your classroom. We will share a middle school unit for your grades 6-8 classroom and hear from Zaheer Ali, Oral Historian and Project Director, Muslims in Brooklyn. Lunch and breakfast will be served. CTLE is available. Cost: $35.
