Chancellor’s PD Day: Three Opportunities at the New York Historical Society

Open to: All teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: The New York Historical Society is hosting three different Chancellor PD Day sessions on June 6:

  • Hands-On Humanities — Using visual thinking strategies, interactive gallery tours, and hands-on art-making activities inspired by Women & the American Story curriculum, discover accessible practices for using arts integration to inspire investigative discovery and creative thinking in your social studies classroom.
  • Stonewall 50 — Tour the exhibition Stonewall 50 to examine LGBTQ activism through different facets of American society. Then participate in classroom sessions that consider how to integrate the impact and experiences of LGBTQ citizens into your history curriculum.
  • Hudson Rising — Tour the exhibition Hudson Rising and participate in interdisciplinary classroom sessions that use the accompanying curriculum to investigate the historical importance of the Hudson River since 1825.

Registration deadline: June 5.
