A Taste of Brooklyn at the Museum of Food and Drink

Opportunity at a Glance: Join Brooklyn Public Library’s Brooklyn Connections for a delicious day of food and history at the Museum of Food and Drink as we tour the museum’s current exhibition, “Chow: Making the Chinese American Restaurant,” which looks at the birth and evolution of Chinese American cuisine and this vital community’s immigration and contribution to New York City. Leave with fun lesson ideas and classroom activities using food related archival sources from the Brooklyn Collection including, menus, photographs, and advertisements. Your students will love learning about immigration through the lens of food and culture! Cost: $20. Lunch will be served. CTLE is available.
