Fostering Lively Literature Circles – Book Clubs in High School (grades 9-12)

Open to: High school teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: High school teachers will explore instructional practices to foster lively literature circle lessons that focus on strategies to deepen reading comprehension, foster rich academic discussions, and boost student agency. In this session, participants will study practical routines, procedures, and sample lessons to bring directly back to your classrooms. Participants will receive over 200 trade books to use for literature circles. We will explore how the strategies and methodologies included in this workshop help students meet the expectations of the Next Generation ELA Standards and support ILF. CTLE is available.
