Opportunity at a Glance: The Supporting New Teachers webpage on WeTeachNYC has a variety of resources for new teachers to be purposefully developed to support the city’s incredibly diverse student population. The site includes Four Core Beliefs that serve as drivers for the knowledge and skills new teachers need to provide engaging, rigorous and culturally responsive education to students. Additional resources aligned to the beliefs will be added periodically to guide a coherent approach to professional learning experiences for teachers new to the DOE.
