Chancellor’s PD Day: PARTICIPATE IN A FORUM ON NUCLEAR WEAPONS

Open to: High School Teachers.

Opportunity at a Glance: Participate in a day-long workshop at the United Nations featuring a tour of the UN disarmament exhibit; testimony by a 2nd generation A-bomb survivor; an overview of the new normalcy of nuclear war by Ray Acheson of Reaching Critical Will; a disarmament education teach-in; and a “meet-the-author” event with Kathleen Burkinshaw, author of The Last Cherry Blossom. Spend the afternoon in small groups developing curriculum that will be posted on the Hibakusha Stories website. Presented by Youth Arts New York, partner member of the 2017 Nobel Peace Laureate ICAN and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs. Free admission. Space is limited.
