Field Trip Transportation Funding Available to NYC Cultural and Historic Sites

Open to: All teachers

Opportunity at a Glance: The National Park Foundation has awarded a limited amount of grant funding to provide transportation for local educators and their students visiting any of the following National Park Service units in the NYC area until August 2020:

African Burial Ground National Monument ( 60 group size maximum, Tuesday-Saturday

Castle Clinton National Memorial ( 30 group size maximum, Sunday-Saturday

General Grant National Memorial ( 60 group size maximum, Wednesday-Sunday

Hamilton Grange National Memorial ( 30 group size, Wednesday-Sunday

Saint Paul’s Church National Memorial ( 60 group size maximum, Monday-Friday

Theodore Roosevelt Birthplace National Historic Site ( 30 group size maximum, Wednesday-Sunday. 

Each unit provides relevant subject matter for Core Curricula and NYC standards, and most have educator materials aligned with the standards that can be found at

To receive reimbursement for transportation costs, please submit the application to request a date at one of the above locations. You may apply to more than one location, but you must complete and submit a separate request for each location. If one of the dates you requested is available you will receive a confirmation for a travel subsidized visit. Each school uses the transportation services selected by their school administration, and will be reimbursed for the cost when an invoice is provided. Funding is limited, and you must not contract with a transportation provider or expend any funds without confirmation for reimbursement first. All qualified applications are approved on a first-come/first-served basis.
