Educator Workshop—Art and Popular Culture: Walt Disney and French Decorative Arts

Open to: Grades K-12 Educators
Opportunity at a Glance:  Join us and explore the lasting legacy and impact of Walt Disney Animation Studios on popular culture through the exhibition Inspiring Walt Disney: The Animation of French Decorative Arts.  During this workshop, teachers learn how colorful salons and French Rococo art came to life in the literature, dance, and theater of eighteenth-century France and inspired the creation of iconic films like Beauty and the Beast (1991).  In addition, participants will explore the exhibition with a Met curator, and generate new ways to integrate and evaluate content in The Met collection through diverse media and formats.
