Opportunity at a Glance: Kid Talk, Teacher Talk (KT3) was developed with funding from 100Kin10. During this workshop participants will for the following:
- Devote time to develop designing and implementing lessons that engage and motivate that will inspire students to explain natural phenomena and solve engineering problems;
- Practice facilitation strategies that improve a student’s ability to communicate thinking, cite evidence, and build ideas through discussions.
The goal is to support and empower educators to facilitate students’ sense-making and their ability to use the science and engineering practices. The program will also provide mentoring and support over the school year, to help sustain and apply the work started in the summer.
Key dates: Monday August 8 – Friday August 12 from 9:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.
