Open to: All Teachers with A Focus on K-8 Grades
Opportunity at a Glance: During this workshop participants will explore phenomenon-based learning with Queens Botanical Garden. Participants will do the following during this workshop:
- Provide successful science experiences for students of varying backgrounds:
- Examine the “ins” and “outs” of soils and how things sprout:
- Explore our own and our students’ identities; and
- Leave this course having learned additional science content as well as methods for engaging and supporting students from traditionally marginalized population.
In addition, by the end of the workshop participants will have backwards planned unit of either phenomenon-based or problem-based instruction that will be useable in the classroom.
**This is a 3P-credit workshop
