Opportunity at a Glance: Participate in a day-long workshop at the United Nations (UN) featuring a tour of the UN Disarmament Exhibit and an overview of the UN’s role in nuclear disarmament and the 2017 Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons. The workshop will feature testimony by Pam Kingfisher of the Cherokee Nation, a “daughter of plutonium”, whose father worked on the Manhattan Project.
Spend the afternoon developing curriculum within NYS Social Studies Standards for grades 9 -12.
Youth Arts New York/Hibakusha Stories is a partner member of the 2017 Nobel Peace Laureate ICAN and the UN Office for Disarmament Affairs.
This event is free. Space is limited to 25.
