Open to: 1-2 Grades Bilingual Teachers Using Heggerty Spanish
Opportunity at a Glance: This 90-minute virtual session will highlight the what and the why of phonemic and phonological awareness. Participants will build an understanding of phonemic and phonological awareness, and cross-linguistic transfer in bilingual settings. During this session participants will do the following:
- Learn how to implement the Spanish primary curriculum in their classrooms; and
- Become familiar with the progression of skills for the Spanish curriculum over the course of the year.
A brief comparison of how the English and Spanish curriculum are similar and different will be shared.
