NYPL: Understanding Dyslexia: The Fact and Fiction of the Science of Reading

Open to: All Educators
Opportunity at a Glance: Understanding how each student learns to read is an essential tool for those teaching young readers and supporting students with Dyslexia.   During this educator workshop, Resha Conroy will discuss the foundations of the science of reading, highlight evidence-supported strategies for working with students with Dyslexia, and dispel myths about literacy development.  Participants will learn about the importance of early identification and effective ways to use research-based instruction in the classroom.

While this workshop will be especially relevant to early elementary teachers, PK-8 educators are also encouraged to attend.
