Connecting Collections Summer Institute

Open to: Grades K-12 Educators
Opportunity at a Glance: Learn techniques for analyzing and interpreting modern and contemporary art in three New York City art museums during this weeklong program.  Hosted by The Met with The Museum of Modern Art and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.  

Participants will do the following:

  • Learn and apply object-based teaching strategies
  • Build confidence incorporating modern and contemporary art into lesson plans
  • Utilize great works of art as forums for interdisciplinary investigations
  • Become a part of a learning community with other educators and museum staff.

Additional Program Information:

Fee: $275; includes a nonrefundable $25 application fee. The balance is due upon acceptance into the program. Fee includes Museum admission, instruction, and materials. Lunch is not provided.

The program is limited to forty participants. 

CTLE credit is available for New York state public school teachers.Key dates:  Monday July 8 – Friday July 12
