Reflection for Growth

Opportunity at a Glance: Our previous post, “Student-Teacher Learning Partnerships: Giving Effective Feedback” focused on feedback, discussion techniques, and giving effective feedback. In this last and final learning cycle for the year “Reflection for Growth,” we’ll explore student and teacher outcomes and growth over the year, and reflect on strengths as well as areas of development moving forward. One aspect of reflection for growth involves “Reflecting on Student Learning Outcomes.” In this activity, participants will categorize evidence of student learning outcomes in order to identify trends and patterns. Participants will also identify and plan to implement strategies to support students in mastering intended learning outcomes.

As a reminder, teachers have access to 70 Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) eBook titles to supplement and strengthen their practice. Some titles that connect to reflection include:
