Opportunity at a Glance: This master class considers the possibilities and limitations of socially aware art. The first session will consider several activist artists and the causes that inspire their work. The second session, artist Betty Yu will talk about her own practice. The third session, will place participants in groups to develop socially-aware art projects they can do with their students.
Participants will do homework to prepare for each session. CTLE-credit is available. This program is free for public and charter school teachers. Participants are selected by application and nomination.
