Opportunity at a Glance: Most educators who work with language learners are aware of the prevalence of student anxiety and of the ways that it can impede learning; however, teachers are not often given the tools to respond appropriately. Indeed, many teachers are faced with a “catch-22”, where the goal of promoting student confidence directly conflicts with institutional goals such as test preparation.
This workshop starts with the premise that wee need to acknowledge this conflict, and to openly discuss the societal, institutional, and classroom-based sources of student anxiety.
This workshop will be hosted by Dr. Sarah Creider
