Science Practices in Darwin’s Garden

Open to: 6th –12th Grade Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Participants will explore science practices and the nature of science as described in the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) appendices F and H, through investigations conducted by Charles Darwin.  Participants will do th following during this course:

  1. Utilize primary source documents from the Museum’s Darwin Manuscripts Project, others, and live plant observations; and
  2. Explore areas including insectivory in plants.    

Our focus science concepts will be adaptation and natural selection.

This session is free and offers CTLE credits upon completion.
