Science Practices in Darwin’s Garden

Open to: Grade 6-12 Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: In this three-hour online session, participants will explore science practices and the nature of science as described in the 
Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) appendices F and H, through investigations conducted by Charles Darwin.  Participant will do the following: 

  • Utilize primary source documents from the Museum’s Darwin Manuscripts Project and others, and live plant observations; and
  • Explore areas including insectivory in plants.

In addition, our focus science concepts will be adaptation and natural selection.

This session is free and offers CTLE credits upon completion.
