Opportunity at a Glance: With The HistoryMakers’s extensive database of oral histories spanning decades, you can hear stories from countless unique voices centering the Black experience.  The collection houses names including Barack Obama, Maya Angelou, Whoopi Goldberg, and many more important and unsung voices.  Ms. Julieanna Richardson, the founder of The HistoryMakers, will share a behind the scenes look at how these interviews were conducted and discover the art of documenting Black American life in its multitudinous range.

In addition, learn how you and your students can use your NYPL library card to explore a range of stories from first-hand accounts.
