An Abridged History of Reading: Highlights from the NYPL Treasures Exhibit

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Join us on a virtual exploration of this history using artifacts from The New York Public Library’s collection of manuscripts, artworks, letters and more.  Educators will get a sneak peek of NYPL’s first-ever permanent exhibition, the Polonsky Exhibition of the Library’s Treasures, spanning 4,000 years of history—from the emergence of the written word through to the present day.

Participants will explore the stories behind select artifacts, discuss ways to incorporate these objects into their lessons, and learn how to book a class field trip to experience the objects firsthand.
