Revisiting the Classification of Life as a Museum Place-based Experience

Open to: Grades 6- 12 Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: The vastness of the diversity of life is represented throughout the halls of the museum.  Memorable dioramas show species from all over the world in their natural environments.  In other displays, such as the Spectrum of Life Wall in the Hall of Biodiversity, species are organized according to their evolutionary relationships.  We invite teachers to participate in this workshop to review the classification of life through place-based experiences in the museum halls and to discuss how to integrate the taxonomic information of species across their curriculum.
