Opportunity at a Glance: Join New York Agriculture in the Classroom and embark on a unique project-based learning journey where participants dive into the fascinating world of honeybees and their second-most popular byproduct, beeswax. Using the “Mind Your Own Beeswax” lesson from the Agricultural Literacy Curriculum Matrix, participants will explore the challenge of excess beeswax in honey extraction and engage in an activity to make, package, and label a beeswax lip balm prototype using provided materials. After the activity, participants will reflect on what they experienced and discuss ways that they can explore the lesson with their students.
