Opportunity at a Glance: The New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) and Bank Street Graduate School of Education are excited to offer three linked courses designed to help educators integrate active STEAM learning in their K-2 classrooms. 

Additional Information

  • Courses are FREE
  • Together the courses are worth 3 graduate credits from Bank Street Graduate School of Education of Education (equivalent to 45 CTLE hours).
  • Courses include hands-on sessions at NYSCI, live video conferences, and independent work.
  • Receive a Bank Street Graduate School of Education STEAM Certificate upon completion of courses.

Participants must be available to attend all three linked courses.

Orientation on Zoom – Thursday December 4, online from 5:00p.m. – 6:00p.m.

EDUC 850 Introduction to STEAM in the Early Childhood Classroom

  • In-person at the New York Hall of Science on Saturday, January 10 from 10:00a.m. -4:30p.m.
  • Live videoconference sessions 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5  (Thurs. 4:00p.m. – 5:30p.m.)

EDUC 851 Materials Literacy in the Early Childhood Classroom

  • In-person at the New York Hall of Science on Saturday, February 28 from 10:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.
  • Live videoconference sessions 3/5, 3/12, 3/19, 3/26 (Thurs. 4:00p.m.-5:30p.m.)

EDUC 852 Developmentally Appropriate Technology in the Early Childhood Classroom

  • In-person at the New York Hall of Science on Saturday, May 2 from10:00a.m. – 4:30p.m.
  • Live videoconference sessions 5/7, 5/14 (Thurs. 4:00p.m.-5:30p.m.)
  • In-person at the New York Hall of Science on Saturday, May 30 from 10:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.
