Apply For Our ‘Museum-Powered Pedagogy: Leveraging the Use of Visual and Material Culture at the Museum’ Session

Open to: Grades 6- 12 Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Material culture are so present in our lives that we often forget to slow down and carefully examine how they shape the world around us.  Come to the American Museum of Natural History and explore different science and cultural halls to find examples of material culture.  Participants will also be introduced to helpful teaching strategies that museum educators employ to engage with learners of all ages. We will practice these strategies with each other and discuss how you might be able to use these strategies in your own classrooms and when you go on field trips to the museum. Strategies we cover may include: visual thinking strategies, diorama study, and more.
