From Tin Pan Alley to Tapestry: Jewish Americans in Pop Music

Opportunity at a Glance: Join TeachRock and the Department of Social Studies and Civics for a day of professional learning at the Center for Jewish History. Attendees will explore TeachRock’s resources and discover how to use music as a primary source pedagogy, investigate Passport to Social Studies and Hidden Voices curricular materials about Jewish Americans in popular music, while engaging with multiple artifacts from the Center for Jewish History’s collections as well as learning with special guests. This session will provide teachers with lesson plans, materials, and strategies to bring this transformative cultural movement to life in their classrooms.
