Teaching Activism in AAPI Communities with Hidden Voices

Opportunity at a Glance:
Join the Asian American Education Project, the NYC Department of Social Studies & Civics, and the Museum of Chinese in America (MOCA) for a full-day workshop designed to deepen educators’ understanding of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) history, identity, and civic belonging.

Participants will hear from leading scholars Dr. Vivian Louie, Dr. Mae Ngai, and Chris Kwok; take part in interactive workshops led by the NYC Hidden Voices team and the Asian American Education Project; and receive copies of Hidden Voices materials and graphic novels on AAPI history. The program also includes a guided tour of MOCA’s exhibits.

Educators will leave with valuable resources and practical strategies for bringing AAPI history and perspectives into their classrooms.
