Opportunity at a Glance: The Teacher Institute for Neuroscience and Society at Columbia University seeks middle school teachers who want to incorporate more neuroscience into the classroom and support their students in discussing current events.
Fall 2026 topic: neuroscience & climate change. We will examine the dual systems of how climate change can affect the brain, and how the brain can also impact climate change. Through hands-on activities and discussion with Columbia scientists, teachers will create lessons that strengthen students’ critical thinking, communication skills, and sense of agency.
This program offers a up to 16 CTLE credits and a $400 stipend.

- Tuesday October 6, 13, 20, and 27 from 4:30p.m. – 7:00p.m.
- Saturday December 5 from 10:00a.m. – 4:00p.m.
