Participate in the African Burial Ground National Monument in NYC Virtual Student Salute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.!

Open to: 4th Grade Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: The national monument invites 4th graders to celebrate the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday!  We will create a video collage of students sharing quotes from Dr. King to air on our social media platforms.  This program supports the 4th Unit of the DOE Social Studies Passport for the 4th Grade.  Dr. King’s speeches frequently discuss the unit’s themes of rights, freedoms, responsibilities, civics and citizenship.  It helps students make connections between time periods of history.  Each student receives an Every Kid Outdoors! Pass.  This pass waives entrance fees for 4th graders and their family at federal lands like units of the National Park System.
