Opportunity at a Glance: A master of horror, Edgar Allen Poe was one of America’s first science reporters: new discoveries and ideas run through his work. Yet, his compelling hoaxes and exposed scientific frauds reveal the challenges of telling scientific truth from speculation and lies in the hostile, chaotic media environment of the nineteenth century—a moment quite similar to today.
Join us, during a three session course, and learn more about Edgar Allan Poe’s experiments.
During the sessions participants will do the following:
- Learn from Dr. Tresch in the first two sessions; and
- Exchange ideas with each other in the third.
Participants are selected by application or nomination, and will have some homework for each session.
CTLE credits offered. Cost: $175, paid by your school. Scholarships are available.
