Opportunity at a Glance: How can focusing on one form of journalistic writing teach students the following cross-curricular skills: researching, asking questions, listening, fact-checking, storytelling, connecting with local experts, and writing and editing to compose with clarity, voice and style?
During this webinar, we will introduce our brand-new Profile Contest and writing unit, designed to teach media-literacy lessons in the context of a student-centered challenge that can work in any subject area.
With the help of teachers and New York Times journalists, we will show you how to weave these skills into your curriculum, whether your students will participate in the contest or not.
