Heggerty Phonemic Awareness: Spanish Curriculum in Bilingual/Dual Language Settings: An Overview of Phonological Awareness

Open to: K-2 Grade Bilingual Teachers using Heggerty Spanish
Opportunity at a Glance: During this two-part series participants will gain an understanding of why phonemic and phonological awareness is important, in English and Spanish literacy development. During this two part series participants will do the following:

Part 1: Build an understanding around phonological awareness, phonics instruction, and cross-linguistic transfer in bilingual and dual language settings.

Part 2: Learn how to implement the English and Spanish curriculum in their classrooms. A lesson will be modeled for the participants and the participants will be able to compare and contrast both the English and Spanish curriculum.

Key dates:  Monday and Tuesday August 1-2 from 9:30a.m. – 10:45a.m.
