Incorporating Student Ideas into the Study of Earth Science with Curriculum Topic Study

Opportunity at a Glance: During this two-day online session, teachers will examine research on teaching and learning related to the theory of plate tectonics using a systematic approach called Curriculum Topic Study (CTS).  Teachers will improve their own understanding of the theory of plate tectonics while learning how to work with commonly held ideas students bring to their learning. Teachers will also have an opportunity to utilize virtual and onsite museum resources to plan a field trip that integrates and values the ideas that learners bring into a learning experience.

This two-day session is free and offers CTLE credits upon completion.
