Opportunity at a Glance: Examine the rise, institutionalization, fall, and lasting impact of racial segregation laws in the United States. Participants will examine Reconstruction to the growth of Jim Crow laws to the ways African Americans mitigated, or tried to moderate, the worst excesses of these laws, as part of this online Teacher Seminar hosted by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
The seminar will be led by Professor Nikki L. Brown (University of Kentucky) and master teacher Ziara R. Smith.
