Wastewater Resource Recovery in NYC

Open to: All Teachers
Opportunity at a Glance: Join the Department of Environmental Protection for a professional learning opportunity at the Newtown Creek Wastewater Resource Recovery Facility.  Participants will learn about NYC’s wastewater treatment process from experts in the field and view educational exhibits on waste-to-energy and biogas-to-grid projects while touring the Newtown Creek facility in Brooklyn.  Educators looking to book trips to the Visitor Center at Newtown Creek this spring will have the chance to see firsthand what their students will be learning. This is also a great opportunity to learn about ways to incorporate wastewater and resource recovery into the NYC Public Schools’ upcoming Waste Climate Action Day (November 19).
