Open to: Middle and High School Teachers and Any Science Discipline
Opportunity at a Glance: Join us during this workshop and learn more about a student-centered approach to decoding journal articles and provide students with opportunities to explore any topic. We will feature articles exploring: how identity impacts who does science and how to use those results to make inclusive changes within your classroom/school; and how Indigenous land management impacts conservation outcomes.
In your classroom, students can easily do the following:
- Learn to lead a journal club;
- Practice various skills;
- Build their scientific literacy, confidence, and data/figure analysis; and
- Practice making predictions while using data to solve problems.
