Monitor Oysters in your Classroom – Oyster Research Tanks with Billion Oyster Project

Opportunity at a Glance: With an Oyster Research Tank (ORT), students can design an original experiment, collect qualitative and quantitative data over time, or study oysters as an anchoring phenomena connected to a wide range of topics.  During this training, participants will do the following:
1) Learn through hands-on activities how to set up and monitor an ORT with students in your classroom.
2) Explore the Billion Oyster Project (BOP) accompanying ORT unit, and consider how it can be used in your classroom.
3) Connect with other Billion Oyster Project (BOP) teachers.

Additional Training Information

  • Cost: $200 to cover the cost of supplies that participants will take home.
  • FREE for teachers at Title 1 schools.

Key dates:  Wednesday August 6 from 9:00a.m. – 3:30p.m.
